South Phoenix businesses band together against light rail

Phoenix Business Journal
South Phoenix businesses are decidedly against plans to expand Valley Metro light rail down Central Avenue. The plan, which would have trains running by 2021, is being considered ruinous by local businesses because it would shrink Central to one lane in each direction, according to ABC15.com. Phoenix voters in 2015 passed a measure to have a 0.7-cent sales tax that would help fund light rail among other transportation initiatives.
