Chamber Seeks To Link Business Owners To Resources

Brian Quijada, Director of Rural Economic Development at Community Investment Corporation (CIC) gave a brief presentation on an upcoming business event in Douglas.

The CIC is a nonprofit alternative lender for small businesses and nonprofit organizations, based in Tucson.

Quijada mentioned that the CIC has recently partnered with the YWCA of Southern Arizona’s Women’s Business Center.

The two entities have integrated their services to deliver business planning tools, workshops, finance, marketing and more. It was noted that while the Women’s Business Center works to assist aspiring women entrepreneurs, their services cater to male business owners as well.

The project is still in the planning stages, but will consist of a panel-based presentation featuring professionals who represent a range of centers of influence in the business community.

These key influencers will provide information on their unique services and resources that businesses can utilize to open or expand, and will open the floor for frequently asked questions.
